Jesussaid that His followers should be reconciled with anyone who has something against them. The world seeks reconciliation on limited terms. Christians are to be reconciled, whatever it takes.

You say, "But you don't know how deeply he hurt me! It's unreasonable to ask me to restore our relationship." Or, "I tried but she would not be appeased." Jesus did not include an exception clause for our reconciliation. If the person is an enemy, Jesus said to love him (Matt. 5:44). If he persecutes you, you are to pray for him (v. 44).If she publicly humiliates you, you are not to retaliate (v. 39). If someone takes advantage of you, you are to give even more than he asks (v. 41). The world preaches "Assert yourself." Jesus taught, "Deny yourself." The world warns that you will be constantly exploited. Jesus' concern was not that His disciples be treated fairly but that they show unconditional love to others regardless of how they are treated. Men spat upon Jesus and nailed Him to a cross. His response was our model: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34).

If there were ever a command that is constantly disobeyed, it is this mandate to be reconciled. We comfort ourselves with the thought, "God knows that I tried to make things right, but my enemy refused." God's Word does not say "Try to be reconciled," but "Be reconciled." Is there someone with whom you need to make peace? Then do what God tells you to do.

The Cost Of Education

After jumping through a few hoops, it looks like I've been accepted to the Computer Information Systems Network Specialist Associates Degree Program at Fox Vally Technical College. I'm basing this statement on the fact that the college sent me a $950 bill for the classes in which I've enrolled. Oh, well. Easy come, easy go. I'm hoping the VA Education Assistance advance makes it here before April 20 when I have to pay for classes, but I'm not holding my breath. Few people know the frustration of navigating the maze of military benefits. The tuition and cost of books will lighten my wallet considerably, but most of the jobs I've applied for require some sort of degree and work experience.

News you can lose

Jeez, I know this stuff. I redirected my Road Runner home page to No-IP using their service. So, the URL listed on my resume is now correct. I slapped myself on the forehead this morning and said, "Oh, yeah," after remembering this bit of information out of the blue. The people who were waiting all thought it was a romantic story as they got to hear it when we were waiting for K to get there. When I am nervous I talk way too much. K's first comments were "God your even prettier in person than on the computer." See we had seen each other a lot on web cam so it was not like we did not know what the other looked like....It was just getting use to being able to see each other in person. K was given 13 days leave and it's been the best time I've had in a long time. It has been a perfect fit from the get go and not a moment of uncomfortableness. We have both expressed extreme happiness to our friends and family.

So he got here on a Friday and we had Friday evening together. Then I had to work my normal shift for the following four nights. K stayed at my house when I was at work and has not even finished watching all the movies I have in my war section! I normal have a three day weekend and this week I took a day off to make it four. We have loaded up that time with getting to know each other even more, spending time with my friends and family, and getting things ready for the wedding. All and all a few minor tiffs but everything is going soothly so far. I have to say my friends and family are all teasing me that they like him more than they like me! Everyone is growing more comfortable with the wedding and they really support that I've found my match. It's been nothing but discovering all those little things that were lacking in every other relationship I've had....Like when I got sick this weekend he tucked me in bed, gave me my meds, and stayed up to check on me all night to make sure I was ok. When he was ready for bed at 5am he chose to sleep on the couch instead of waking me up because well I had taken over the bed with out knowing it.

I'm back at work tonight and I have two more nights of work this week thus eating into time with him as he will be leaving on Wednesday to head back to MD. I'm so ready for this part of our life to start and cannot wait for the wedding...Well in truth I cannot wait for our marriage to start! So Wednesday will be sad for him to go but in May I'll go out there to see him and then in July I'll be moving totally to be with him. I just thought I would share a quick post with everyone.

MG I'm sooo happy the surgery went well and that it got rid of a lot of that pain. I'm also hoping that I'm not the only one becoming a wife this summer...I'm really rooting for you and VK. For I know true love when I see it!

Last night it was mixed emotions

Saw some cool bands. I'm torn between emotions and whether I should stay here or not. I mean, I do want to stay now that I have a job in my field and New York ain't that tempting. The loneliness is killing me and I can't do nothing about it. Right now I just woke up and had a dream Dave was in England and somehow he knew my ex and my ex was sending me notes through him. In the dream I just arrived in England and I was dying to see her. My mind playing tricks on me and my heart going on overdrive. Dancing tonight. Oh and I kept my promise. Both packages offer a free version for home use with some features disabled.

While more 'geeky,' Sygate seemed to agree with my system better than the Zonelabs offering. Zone Alarm started popping up vector errors during Internet browsing after a couple hours of use, and the only way to get back to a functioning system was a hard reset using the PC power switch. I've heard this is bad for the computer, and I found many instances of this problem in the Zonelabs forums. A review of Event Viewer showed about 50 VSMON.DLL errors, so I uninstalled the software.

The Sygate package installed effortlessly and produced one shutdown error on reboot. After that it was smooth sailing, and it seems to work well. There's more to setting up Sygate's firewall software, and support will cost you a bundle. But, us geeks don't use technical support that often, anyhow. A program popup lets you know a process is trying to access the Internet or your network, and you are given to choice to allow the connection or have the program ask if the connection should be allowed. When a blocked program tried to access the Internet, a popup appeared saying it had been blocked and gave the choice to disable the warning. To me, this means the software is doing its job, so I think I'll stick with it.

Joke a day

This farmer has about 200 hens, but no rooster and he wants chicks. So, he goes down the road to the next farmer and asks if he has a rooster. The other farmer says, "Yeah, I've got this great rooster, named Randy; he'll service every chicken you've got. No problem."

Well , Randy the rooster is a lot of money, but the farmer decides he'd be worth it. So , he buys Randy. The farmer takes Randy home and sets him down in the barnyard, giving the rooster a pep talk, " Randy, I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here and you cost me a lot of money and I'll need you to do a good job. So, take your time and have some fun," the farmer said with a chuckle.

Randy seemed to understand, so the farmer points towards the hen house and Randy took off like a shot ~WHAM~ He nails every hen on there THREE or FOUR times and the farmer is just shocked. Randy runs out of the hen house and sees a flock of geese down by the lake ~WHAM~ He gets all the geese. Randy's up in the pigpen. He's in with the cows. Randy is jumping on every animal the farmer owns.

The farmer is distraught, worried that his expensive rooster won't even last the day. Sure enough, the farmer goes to bed and wakes up the next day to find Randy dead as a doorknob in the middle of the yard. Buzzards are circling overhead.

The farmer, saddened by the loss of such a colorful animal , shakes his head and says, "Oh, Randy, I told you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, now look what you've done to yourself." Randy opens one eye, nods towards the sky and say's , "Shhh. The school is defending the booklet, and their decision to use it claiming that "You can have two different sides, a Northern perspective and a Southern perspective" according to the school's Principal Larry Stephenson. Last time I checked Larry, there were more than two perspectives on anything. Even slavery.

The two authors, Doug Wilson and Steve Wilkins have "essentially constructed the ruling theology of the neo-Confederate movement." According to the school. Doug Wilson is even credited with writing the book on classical education on which the school bases it's philosophy. But the insanity doesn't stop there.

Stephenson defends the schools decision by stating: "As a classical Christian school, we think it's important for our students to be able to think and not be slanted to a particular position," Stephenson said. "We want them to think for themselves." Despite the logic that suggests otherwise. The book clearly states that there is one opinion, and the history books are wrong:

"As we have already mentioned, the 'peculiar institution' of slavery was not perfect or sinless, but the reality was a far cry from the horrific descriptions given to us in modern histories." (pg 22)

The school claims that in public schools, students learn one position. "That's not education. That's indoctrination." says Stephenson. It may be important to identify and analyze the motication that caused the adoption of slavery as an institution. But saying: "There has never been a multi-racial society which has existed with such mutual intimacy and harmony in the history of the world" (pg 24) is far fetched and insulting.

Try Howard Zinn's The People's History Of The United States.

my dog

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px;
